Special Change for Next Sunday: 3/25/12

Happy Spring Break Sunday School Families!!!

Last Sunday we discussed worship. Have you used your dinner discussion sheet yet? Check the last blog post to get a copy if you missed last Sunday or if your van ate your copy on the way home from church! J

To help reinforce what we learned last week, there will not be a regularly scheduled children’s Sunday school class but instead all children will go to the worship service to participate in cooperate worship with the Body of Christ. Ginny Malfa has been so gracious to help out by making special sheets for all children to help them engage in the service and sermon. Son Dollars will also be passed out for attending the service. Our son tag board will be in the Narthex so don’t forget to pick up your tag on the way into the sanctuary. For the children of those adults that are attending the discipleship class at 9:00am, your children are invited to sit with Ginny during the service so you can still be a part of your class.

Don’t forget to bring in items for our annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 7^th at 9am. There is a basket in the Narthex where items can be placed such as small toys, stickers, and individually wrapped candy (no chocolate please).

Our Sunday school lessons during these 6 weeks will also follow the main curriculum idea for the week. Week 1: Grace (March 4, 2012)

VBS REGSITRATION IS NOW OPEN!

We are super excited to announce that VBS 2012 registration is now open. You can click on the tab above marked "VBS 2012" to learn more about this year's underwater adventure as well as register online. ONLINE REGISTRATION? You read it right, FUMC of Jupiter is diving into the high tech world and making this year easier for everyone. Registration for each child and volunteer can be completed online to help save time and money. Registration fees will have to be mailed or delivered to the church office:

This week at Sunday school we will be emptying our backpacks? hmmmmm? Curiosity got you yet? Make sure you're there early so we can jump right into all of the fun! There will be no Son Mart this week, apparently I was a little over excited last week and had it one week early. Sorry about that!

One last note for all parents to think and pray about: we will be starting new Sunday school curriculum soon. It's a super fun and energetic curriculum that will require a lot of extra hands. Our needs consist of:

Small Group Leaders, materials provided and commitment is every other Sunday.

Games Leader, commitment is every other Sunday

Snack Leader, help the children create fun snacks that coincide with the lesson, commitment is every other Sunday.

Please let me know ASAP if you would be interested in any of these areas of service.

Fun for this Sunday: February 5th!

Don't forget about our unfinished scripture verse from last week. Find the following scripture in the book of Proverbs and tell us where we can find it:

If you can bring in the answer, you will earn 4 son dollars. Speaking of son dollars.....this Sunday is the first Sunday of the month so that could only mean one thing:

IT'S SON MART!!!!!

Come join us for a great Sunday together as we gear up for the Super Bowl and remind ourselves of just how Super God is and how Super he made each of you!!

We will be collecting can goods for the food pantry. Bring your can goods and place them on the table in the Narthex for  the team you will be cheering on during the big game. We may not be able to predict the Super Bowl outcome, but it will be fun to see which team earns the most canned goods.

Special News for January 1, 2012!!

Greetings Sunday School Families!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas celebrating with your family! Just a quick reminder for next Sunday…NEW YEARS DAY 2012 (WOW!). Although the church is having 2 services (9am & 10:30am), we will only be having Sunday School during the 10:30 am service. Kathy (our infamous children’s church leader from the second service) and I will be joining forces to create one big group of fun. We know many of you will have a late night the night before ringing in the new year; therefore, we want to encourage you to sleep in, enjoy your family AND THEN come join your church family for the 10:30am service. We will be talking about our new year and new adventures. We will also have the children work on a time capsule that will be opened at the start of 2013.

Children will start the service with their families as and then they will be excused after the children’s moments (approx ¼ of the way into the service). We will take it from there with all kinds of fun until the end of the service.

 

Can’t wait to ring in the new year with all of you. One last thought…if you haven’t emailed me your WWJG pictures yet, please do so this week as this will be the last time to collect them. THANKS!!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!

CHANGE OF SCHEDULE FOR THIS WEEKEND!

We have only had 2 families RSVP that they will be singing this weekend; therefore, we have made a change of plans for the children’s involvement with this year’s Cantata. We will no longer be meeting this Saturday, December 10^th nor will we participate with the Cantata on Sunday, December 11^th. Instead, Miss Dot would like to have the kids sing Away in the Manger during the children’s Christmas Eve service. We will be practicing the song this Sunday.

Not to worry, we will still have our regularly scheduled Children’s Sunday school THIS SUNDAY at 9am. Don’t forget….it’s SON MART THIS WEEK! YAHOOOOOOOOOOO! In addition to our Bible lesson, the children have been asked to decorate this year’s Christmas offering envelopes. Can’t wait to see you all there!
